June Goals | 2015

I've been slacking on my monthly goals. I never recapped how I did in March and didn't even bother making goals in April and May. I had a lot on my plate with school and running, so they kind of fell to the side. School is easing up and I'm more motivated to blog, so I have big plans for June!

//  Craftiness  //
  • Finish my Melodia shawl - This is a knit along with an opportunity for a prize, so it WILL get done.
  • Finish my Tales from the Isle of Purbeck MKAL (again, another knit along).
  • Finish Courtney's sweater - I've been saying I'm going to finish it for months, so I just need to jump back in and get it done.
  • Sew 3 garments - I have two cut out, so I'm on my way!

//  Fitness   //
  • Not miss a run in June! Which really means don't miss runs unnecessarily.
  • Add strength training to my routine - I work AT the gym, this shouldn't be so hard!

//  Life  //
  • Keep the blog updated. I've enjoyed coming up with new post ideas, taking pictures, and writing about my life.
  • Keep using my big camera a lot

I'm hoping for a productive month!

March Goals | 2015

January's goals were pretty much a bust, although I did manage to stick with my running schedule...as long as you don't count the week that I was sick. Also, I sort of stayed on budget. I gave myself a little leeway because of an unexpected medical bill...from being sick. I guess that's my excuse for everything!

February's goals didn't even get a post. That's okay though, I wasn't very successful anyway.

Here's to big plans for March! I should accomplish at least a few of these things since I get a week off from school during the middle of the month.

Craftiness
// Make a laptop sleeve for my computer. I've been using Courtney's old one and it's a bit too big for my computer.
// Finish the binding on the quilt. I'm halfway done!
// Finish the body on C's sweater.

Fitness
// Add strength training to my workout schedule.
// Keep up with my running schedule and (hopefully) get faster!

Life Stuff
// Get A's in all my classes...which just means don't get lazy at the end of the quarter.

January Goals | 2015

I skipped making goals for December because I knew I'd be super busy with finals and traveling back home to enjoy some time with family, but I'm back at it in January! A little over a week into the month (and year), I've settled on my goals...

Craftiness
// Sew a laptop sleeve for my new computer using my new sewing machine
// Start and make progress of Courtney's Christmas sweater
// Finish the binding on the quilt

Fitness
// Stick to my running schedule

Life stuff
// Blog more
// Stay on top of my school work, especially readings

Pretty simple stuff this month...

November Goals | How did it go?

Read my November Goal post, here

Knitting

// Finish my Grace Cardigan - Still haven't truly finished it because it needs buttons, but I can still technically wear it.

// Knit a Hutchin hat - Yup! I love it! So does my mom, so she's getting one for Christmas. [At the end of December, I'd knit two. ]

// Start Courtney's Christmas sweater [Grandpa Cardigan by Joji Locatelli] - Nope. I was so busy while in California that the sweater got pushed to the back burner in December as well.

Other craftiness

// Start Christmas gifts - Sort of. I had everything planned and supplies bought in November. Although I did have quite a few things finished before I flew home on the 12th.

// Sew a bag for my yoga mat- Nope. I have the fabric picked out though!

Fitness

// Try yoga - Still working on this.

// Run 10x this month- No. Definitely did not happen.

Life

// Use my 'big' camera a lot - I'd say I improved, but I don't use my big camera nearly as much as I should.

// Visit the farmer's market - No. Do you know how cold it is?!?!

// Make Thanksgiving dinner myself for the first time. Courtney will help, but still! - Accomplished! With style I might add. Everything was delicious, especially the vegan gravy!

October Goals | How did it go?

Read my October Goals post, here

Knitting

// Finish knitting my Grace cardigan - I didn't quite finish my sweater. I just need to finish the ribbing on the second sleeve and knit the button bands. Totally doable in November, especially since tomorrow I'm heading out to Fabric Row to find buttons.

// Swatch for Courtney's Christmas sweater - Done and done. I even blocked my swatch.

// Knit a hat. Fall is creepin' in afterall - Didn't get to this, but I did buy the perfect pattern and yarn at the Brooklyn Tweed Fall '14 trunk show.

Other craftiness

// Plan Christmas gift list. Gifts for others that is, not me. Geez! - I have a nice list of ideas started, but it's not finalized since there are so many Christmas craft fairs around the city during the holiday season.

Fitness

// Try a fitness class at the gym - I tried Zumba and hated it. I don't have rhythm and can't dance, so that could be why. Also, since I couldn't really follow along, I didn't get much of a workout. I bought a yoga mat this month, so I'll try yoga next. If I don't like it, at least I have a nice stretching mat.

// Run 10x this month. I'm trying to get back into running - Yeah, didn't happen. I've decided to run the San Francisco Marathon, so November and December will be dedicated to building up a nice base for marathon training, which according to Courtney starts January 1st.

General life stuff

// Stay on budget - I basically stayed on budget except for a miscalculation at the beginning of the month and a necessary school purchase (STATA). I can live with that.

// Try a new recipe - YES! I bough the Thug Kitchen cookbook and love it! I tried the Tortilla Soup recipe and was impressed. It was easy to make and super flavorful.

October Goals | 2014

Taking a page out of Courtney's book, I decided to make some goals for October. There are no rules for my goals, but I always have things on my to-do list, crafty projects to do, and a list of places/things to try, so I thought it would be a good idea to write them down and get to work!
